GRAB YOUR DEMOCRACY SAUSAGE AND SUPPORT ‘GROW AT YEO‘

Yeo Park Infants School is rolling out the flags of democracy and hosting an ELECTION DAY GALA event this Saturday 21st May to support the local community after such a challenging few years.

As well as the usual Democracy Sausage Sizzle, P&C Cakes, Lemonade, Pickles and Jams we’ve extended the invitation to local makers and business owners to create a fun packed mini-market for voters and non-voters to enjoy.

Featuring a hand-picked selection of local businesses – artisan hand-crafted jewellery, ladies fashion, tees for adults and kids, vintage clothing, homewares, gifts, preloved books as well as crafts and face-painting - there’s something for all the family.

Yeo Park P&C are raising funds to create an outdoor learning space with seats under the shade of the trees, creating a quiet recreational space that can also be used for traditional lessons and to host the community playgroup in a calm, outdoor environment. The fundraising plan includes subpods and more garden beds to create a welcoming space suitable to host incursions to educate the kids about worm farms and composting, native edibles and the role of stingless bees as pollinators.

“Yeo Park Infants School has a history of holding election day markets with fantastic patronage from our wonderful community. Over the last few years, it’s been hard for schools to fundraise without being onsite. This time, by coming along to our election day markets you’ll not only help us get closer to achieving our outdoor classroom but also supporting local businesses at the same time. Please help spread the word about our great little school in the park!” says Kerri Lovi, Principal.

Across the cricket green, Outfield is generously donating a portion of their profits for every coffee sold at the school and collected at the café. They’re also hosting a music event with live Jazz so grab your picnic blanket and enjoy a great day out in Yeo Park!
